You'll never do it unless you set yourself a goal. So get your running shoes out of the cupboard and sign up to one of our running events:
 

>> Virgin London Marathon - 25 April 2010

One of the most famous and prestigious running events in the UK. The course takes you through the streets of London passing famous monuments and landmarks. You can guarantee huge support from the crowd which line the route each year come rain or shine. 

NOTE: There are no charity places left for this event but we would appreciate own-place runners representing CHICKS.


>> Great Manchester 10K Run - 16 May 2010

The Great Manchester Run is one of the world's fastest growing running events. The 10K race starts and finishes in the City Centre and features a great course, bands, a charity village, plus a whole range of other activities and entertainments across the City.

>> Plymouth Half Marathon - 30 May 2010

CHICKS are delighted to be the official nominated charity for this event.

The Plymouth Half Marathon is now recognised locally as one of the cities major sporting events and was acclaimed in the Top 10 Half Marathons in the UK. With guaranteed charity places in this local run we would be delighted if you joined the CHICKS running team.

>> Asics British 10K London Run - 11 July 2010

2010 marks the tenth anniversary of the nation's favourite London 10K road race.  The race is the most historic and sporting 10K route in the UK.  The route takes you past Hyde Park Corner, St James' Palace, Trafalgar Square, St Paul's Cathedral, Houses of Parliament and many other famous sights.  The finish line is close to the Cenotaph.  Each year the race has been a sell out event so enter now to avoid missing your chance to take part in this great tenth anniversary event!

>> Bristol Half Marathon - 5 September 2010

The Bristol Half Marathon is now one of the largest and most popular half marathons in the country growing from 1,000 runners in 1989 to 15,000 places which now fill within weeks of the race launch.

 >> Great North Half Marathon Run - 19 September 2010 
 The Bupa Great North Run is the premier event in the Great Run series and is firmly established as the world’s most popular half-marathon.   The Half Marathon run was devised by former Olympic 10,000m bronze medallist and BBC sports commentator Brendan Foster after he had run the Round the Bays race in New Zealand in 1979.

>> Run to the Beat (O2) 10K London - 26 September 2010

Run to the rhythm, run to the beat, keep your feet moving ... and pound that street!

This event provides an exciting and interactive challenge for fitness enthusiasts by combining music and sport.  Music will be performed at strategic points around the course and what you hear has been scientifically selected to boost your performance with the correct number of beats per minute at that point on the course.

>> Eden Project Marathon & Half Marathon - 10 October 2010 (and Fun Run on 9 October)

This year Eden Project are holding their second Marathon & Half Marathon (runners must be aged 18 and over). The runs will feature a multi-terrain course through Eden and around varied countryside and mining areas. The 1 Mile Fun Run, being held on the day before the main event this year, is a circuit in and around the famous Eden site and Biomes.  There is free entry to the Eden Project on 10th October for all families and supporters of registered runners of the Marathon and Half Marathon.  Because this is only the second event of its kind at the Eden Project CHICKS would like to encourage as many runners as possible so we are asking participants to raise a minimal amount of sponsorship money:

Entry fee for Marathon:          £25 with Sponsorship £200

Entry fee for Half Marathon:   £18 with Sponsorship £100

Entry fee for 1 Mile Fun Run:   £2  with Sponsorship  £10

 
>> Great South 10 mile Run, Portsmouth - 24 October 2010

The Great South Run in Portsmouth was recently awarded the coveted IAAF gold label status, becoming the first 10 miler in the world to be given the accolade for its exceptional standards of organisation and world class elite fields.

Entry fee: £36

Sponsorship: £200
