The Thomas Cook Children's Charity Camps begin
- Wednesday, 18 May 2011 00:00

In 2010, the Thomas Cook Children's Charity very generously donated £100,000 to fund eight camps. Flamenco Camp was the first to be sponsored and it certainly made a huge impact.
The camp theme this year at Moorland Retreat is styles of dances and Flamenco Camp certainly lived up to it's name.Charlotte's story ...
Charlotte is one of the children who was on camp. She is part of a single parent family and her older sister has some behavioural difficulties. Her father is diagnosed with a personality disorder.
Charlotte can come across as shy and finds it hard to confidently participate in activities. She is friendly, helpful and popular. Charlotte loves art.
On Flamenco Camp, Charlotte grew in confidence and self-esteem. She laughed, smiled and easily made friends with the other children.
As a result of the support from the Thomas Cook Children's Charity, Charlotte and the other children on camp, will take with them positive and happy memories that will stay with them when times are hard, giving them hope for the future.
On behalf of Flamenco Camp and the children who got the chance to be children ... The CHICKS team would like to say 'thank you'.

Throughout May we will be running our Change for CHICKS campaign. We're asking all our supporters to encourage their friends, family and colleagues to donate their small change to CHICKS. More...
