Hello, my name is Mas and I am the new CHICKS Mascot. Mas was the name chosen for me by a little girl who lives in Plymouth and entered a competition in the Herald to name me! My name stands for "Make a Smile" which is fitting for the charity I represent.

Here at CHICKS, our aim is to give the children lots of smiles and a fantastic time. The children make new friends and, most importantly, remember the fun they had with us, making memories and making smiles. With this in mind, we are appealing to schools and pre-schools to help us make a difference.

We understand that every charity has a strong case for support and schools must find it difficult to choose one of the thousands of charities who write to them each year. However, as the CHICKS Mascot, I appeal to you directly. If you are the head teacher, one of the teaching staff, a school governor, a parent support advisor or a member of school's charity committee then please consider adopting CHICKS as your charity of the year.

If your school is in Devon, Cornwall, Birmingham or Glasgow then I would love to accompany one of our Community Fundraisers to one of your school assemblies and give a talk to your staff and pupils about the work of CHICKS.
