As news of the alternative Real Relay spreads, a chance to carry the Real Relay baton is proving to be almost as desirable as tickets for the Olympics themselves!

In the early stages of the relay runners were immediately supportive, but it was difficult filling many of the Welsh, Northern Irish and Scottish legs at such short notice as the publicity was all through face book and word of mouth and getting someone to run between half past midnight and two in the morning in the middle of nowhere was tough!

Now however people are queuing up to get the stages they want and runners are being encouraged to run with the baton carrier as a group.

 The Real Relay has had the chance to visit a number of schools en route and the idea has been enthusiastically received by the pupils. We are sure that they are as impressed as we are with the fact that the Real Relay baton has now been on the run for 30 days non stop and has raised over £4500 for CHICKS.
