Gift Aid
If you are a UK tax payer, living in the UK, we can claim back tax on your donation. This means that for every pound you donate to CHICKS we receive an additional 25p. For example if you donate £10.00 we get £12.50 and it doesn’t cost you a penny!
Basically gift aid is great news for you and us!
How to make a donation using Gift Aid

Claiming back higher rate tax
Did you know that if you pay the higher rate of tax you too can claim back money on any donation you make to us under Gift Aid.
The amount you can claim back depends on whether you pay 40% or 50%. We the charity will claim back on the basic rate of tax at 20%, you the donor can claim back the difference between the basics rate and your higher rate
For example, if you donate £100, the total value of your donation to the charity is £125 - so you can claim back:
£25 - if you pay tax at 40 per cent (£125 × 20%)
£37.50 - if you pay tax at 50 per cent (£125 × 20%) plus (£125 × 10%)
You can make this claim on your Self Assessment tax return form.
Gift Aid really does make your donation work smarter at no extra cost to you!
