Relationships Manager

Location: Buckfastleigh, Devon/Home Working (Nationwide Travel Required)

Salary: £28,452 – £35,000

Full-time: 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

This is an opportunity for an influential, experienced and strategic focused individual to develop donor and supporter relationships that raise vital funds using digital and direct marketing methods for CHICKS children’s charity.

This role requires a knowledgeable, dynamic and committed person to take on the challenge of developing income from individuals, whilst maintaining and building on the current successes, taking the charity to the next individual and regular giving engagement level.

The ideal candidate will have excellent line management experience, impactful communication skills, a flare for powerful storytelling, proven successful direct marketing (including digital) management experience and an ethos aligned to the charity. 

You will thrive using your own creative initiative, be motivated by data and have a track record of achieving individual income of six figures.

Young Persons Hub Coordinator

Location: Ashbourne, Derbyshire (Nationwide Travel Required)

Salary: £17,072 – £19,527

Full-time: 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

Working as a key member of the Young Persons Hub, The Young Persons Hub Coordinator will be responsible for the allocation of young people and volunteers onto our respite breaks. This role will work closely with another Coordinator who also books a proportion of the breaks, working closely together to coordinate the breaks. As workload allows the position also has scope to engage and develop new and existing contacts with the aim of increasing referrals as needed.

To be successful you should have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, be able to communicate well with professionals, parents and people of all ages and backgrounds.  You will be creative and adaptable as well as being independent and self-motivated. You should be competent using Microsoft Office and Outlook as well as being able to pick-up new systems/databases easily.

Head of Partnerships 

Location: London (Nationwide Travel Required)

Salary: £35,000 – £39,320

Full-time: 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

This is an exceptional opportunity for an influential, experienced and strategic focused corporate and partnerships professional to develop relationships and income for CHICKS children’s charity.

This role requires a knowledgeable, dynamic and committed individual to bring their network and be confident engaging new networks and take on the challenge of executing a new three-year strategy that will double partnership income.

The ideal candidate will have excellent line management experience and impactful communication skills, proven strategic partnership and corporate management experience and an ethos aligned to the charity.  You will thrive using your own initiative, be inspired by possibility and have a track record of achieving gifts of five to six figures. Taking CHICKS corporate and partnership engagement to the next level will be your passion.

Community & Corporate Fundraiser (Midlands)

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Salary: Grade 3: £22,500 – £26,000

Home-based in Nottingham or Derby (Regular presence at our Daleside Retreat will be required)

The new Community & Corporate Fundraiser will play a pivotal role in the charity, at a time of significant growth in the Midlands and North for CHICKS. With a relatively new presence in this area, following the opening of our Daleside Retreat in Ashbourne in 2017 the need to raise awareness and funds is vital within community groups and businesses.

To succeed in this role, you will need to love connecting and building authentic relationship with people from all walks of life with varied interests and passions. You will see unique opportunities and have engaging communication skills to make CHICKS a charity of choice within new areas and with new people.

You will need to be confident in speaking to groups, securing opportunities to ‘put CHICKS forward’ and attending events. You will be passionate to grow on our supporter base and develop this income streams so we can say ‘yes’ to more children.

Income & Data Officer

35 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

Salary: £17,000 – £21,500

The new Income & Data Officer will play a pivotal role in the charity at a time of significant growth in CHICKS. With the responsibility of processing income as well as financial and data reporting to the senior management team, this is a role suited to an ambitious and inquisitive individual.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who thrives on paying attention to detail and who will enjoy the challenge of a busy, varied role. Previous experience of databases is beneficial, the ability to prioritise workload and a high level of numeracy is essential.

Marketing & Communications Officer

Working with CHICKS Campaigns and Communications Manager, this role will be central to the success of the charity, working alongside colleagues across the organisation to raise the funds necessary to deliver our mission, raise the profile of our work nationally, and embrace new opportunities to ensure we continue to grow for the future and impact on the lives of more children across the UK.

This is an opportunity for an experienced marketing and communications professional to work with an ambitious, national charity during an exciting period of growth. We are looking for a creative, focused and motivated person to work in a small but fast-paced marketing team creating powerful, engaging content for print and digital channels, inspiring action among existing and potential supporters with creatively-driven marketing campaigns and helping to strengthen the charity’s brand identity on a national scale.

Holiday Activity Leaders

Tywardreath, Cornwall

CHICKS have an exciting opportunity to deliver day activities to disadvantaged children at our Coastal Retreat in Cornwall.  Volunteers will have a summer to remember, having exciting and fun experiences, learning new skills, meeting likeminded people and making a valuable difference in children’s lives.

Under the guidance of an experienced CHICKS staff member you will support children to create inspirational childhood memories through fun, play and activity.  We will be promoting a healthy, active lifestyle including an emphasis on time outdoors and positive food choices.

Break Volunteer

Volunteering on a break: Come and volunteer on a CHICKS break - you'll spend a week at our retreat in Derbyshire, where you'll be able to take part in lots of exciting activities while making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children. Anyone who is 18 and over can volunteer, and there is no upper age limit. You just need to be willing to get involved and have fun!

Shop Volunteer

CHICKS now have two charity shops up and running in the South West! (With a third opening soon in Newton Abbot)

Our shops - in Heavitree, Exeter and Union Street, Torquay - both stock a unique collection of pre-loved men’s, women’s and children’s fashion items as well as books, DVDs, records, homeware and bric-a-brac BUT we are always in need of refreshing our stock! So if you're able to donate items that would be wonderful.
