Director of Fundraising & Development 

Location: Buckfast, Devon (Opportunity for Flexible Working)

Salary: £39,320 - £48,319

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to build our fundraising capacity as well as grow our presence nationally by providing excellent fundraising and communications knowledge and offer strategic guidance and support as part of the leadership team. We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual who will give CHICKS a voice and help move the charity forward for the future. 

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional, a team player willing to take on a varied role, working across multiple sites, with ambition to grow income and deliver new initiatives.

Trustee Opportunities

Location: UK Nationwide

Salary: Non-remunerated

We are currently seeking to recruit a minimum of three new Board members to join our existing seven Trustees. Our Trustees can be located anywhere in the UK, however we would particularly welcome interest from candidates who are well connected in London, as well as the Midlands and the North to further support our work in Derbyshire.

We are seeking individuals who can bring their knowledge and energy to the Board, as well as embracing the CHICKS philosophy of having a huge amount of fun!

The Board of Trustees has a wide range of experience and skills, but following a recent skills audit and strategy day it was determined that this recruitment will focus on adding new skills from the following priority areas:

  • Young people/children’s services
  • Finance, including investments and cash management
  • Digital marketing and innovation
  • Retail/social enterprise/business
  • Fundraising
  • Legal/compliance
  • Lived experience in benefiting from services similar to those provided by CHICKS

Break Volunteer Opportunities

Come and volunteer on a CHICKS break! You'll spend a week at our retreat in Derbyshire, where you'll be able to take part in lots of exciting activities while making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children. Anyone who is 18 and over can volunteer and there is no upper age limit. You just need to be willing to get involved and have fun!

Shop Volunteer Opportunities

CHICKS now have three charity shops up and running in the South West. Our shops – in Exeter, Torquay and Newton Abbot – stock a unique collection of pre-loved men’s, women’s and children’s fashion items, as well as books, DVDs, records, homeware and bric-a-brac. We are always in need of refreshing our stock, and are also on the lookout for new shop volunteers!
