We are delighted to announce that registration is now open for our fabulously festive Santa Fun Runs, taking place in Callington on Saturday 1 December and Tavistock on Sunday 9 December.
Adults and children aged 3-16-years-old are invited to sign up for these hugely popular annual events, as are well-behaved rein-dogs on leads!
Both routes total 1.5 miles and all those who take part can choose whether they want to run, skip, jump or walk around them.
CHICKS Community Fundraising Officer Mick Ryan said: “We can’t wait to bring our annual Santa Fun Runs back to Callington and Tavistock for 2018!
“The runs are certainly not races; they're about celebrating the amazing difference our supporters have helped to make to so many children’s lives across the UK this year.
“Whether you choose to walk, run or skip – it’s totally up to you!”
Organisers of this year’s event are encouraging people to sign up as soon as possible as places are limited.
Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for children aged 3-16 and £25 for a family of four (two adults and two children).
The ticket price includes a FREE Santa Suit for every participant and a medal for completing the route.
CHICKS Events Fundraiser Kayleigh Young-Valentine added: “Once registered, we ask that all those who sign up raise as much in sponsorship as possible to help fund the vital respite breaks CHICKS provides for children from across the UK.
“Thanks to this support, children living in poverty, acting as young carers or suffering the effects of bullying, abuse or bereavement will be given the chance to have adventures, make memories and find their confidence at CHICKS.”
Nathan* who attended a CHICKS break this summer said: “I would give CHICKS five out of five…and an extra one!”
In addition to our two Santa Fun Runs, we are also excited to announce that Santa will be making a special visit to our Daleside Retreat in Derbyshire on Saturday 8 and 15 December for a special fundraising breakfast.
For £9.95 children will be able to enjoy a full children’s English breakfast and pancakes (with free tea and coffee for parents and carers) followed by free arts and crafts, a story read by Santa and a present from the man himself!
Sheryl Dago, Regional Fundraising Manager at CHICKS, said: “We are delighted that Santa has very kindly agreed to help us with our fundraising efforts this Christmas by coming along to our Daleside Retreat for a special breakfast event.
“We hope the morning will be a celebration of Christmas and the fantastic support CHICKS has received from the local community over the year."
Our huge thanks extend to all those helping to support our festive fundraising events, including Darren’s Cars and Acronyms for sponsoring the 2018 Santa Fun Runs and Callington and Tavistock Rotary Clubs for their fantastic support.
