We hosted our sparkling fundraising ball at London’s iconic Hilton Waldorf Hotel on Thursday 22 November, proudly supported by parcel delivery experts Hermes.

The evening was a celebration of the difference CHICKS is able to make to the lives of children and young people across the UK.

Attended by our numerous supporters, we are delighted to announce the evening raised an incredible £56,000.

The money raised will help to fund the free-of-charge respite breaks we provide for hundreds of children and young people who are living in difficult circumstances across the UK, including many with full time caring responsibilities, struggling with the effects of bullying or abuse, or living in poverty.

CHICKS Chief Executive, Andrew Dean, said: “Our huge thanks extend to all those who attended and supported our fantastic celebration of CHICKS last week.

“We were truly honoured to see so many people together in one place celebrating the incredible difference their support is able to make to the lives of children across the UK.”

Highlights of the evening included a moving speech by CHICKS Respite Break Leader Alice Walker-Shakespeare, exclusive auction with money-can’t-buy prizes including a week’s stay in the Dordogne and stunning aerial acrobatic performance from Kat McGurk.

Martijn de Lange, CEO of Hermes UK, said: “We’re very proud to support CHICKS throughout the year, and especially at the Ball, which is the highlight of the charity’s fundraising calendar.

“We’re looking forward to continuing to work together into 2019 and beyond, to provide our support and volunteers for such a worthy cause.”

We are always keen to hear from individuals and businesses interested in supporting its vital work. To find out more about the charity and opportunities to support call 01822 811020 or visit our wesbite.
