We are thrilled to have been nominated by The Duchess of Devonshire as the chosen charity for the Dodson & Horrell Chatsworth International Horse Trials, from 10 -12 May 2019.
Our CEO Andrew Dean is delighted that we have been chosen to have a presence, once more, at this international three-day event of thrilling world class equestrian sport.
“Being picked by The Duchess of Devonshire as the nominated charity for the Dodson & Horrell Chatsworth International Horse Trials for the second year in a row means so much to all of us at CHICKS. It is a monumental boost to our nationwide charity," he said.
“Our Daleside Retreat, just outside Ashbourne in Derbyshire, will be providing week-long residential respite breaks for hundreds of children living in desperately difficult conditions from around the UK this year.
“Children and young people who have been bereaved, are living in poverty, suffering the effects of bullying, abuse or neglect or acting as young carers will be given the chance to have adventures and make memories in the beautiful countryside.”
CHICKS loves the farmyard at Chatsworth and really wants to embrace the farmyard spirit on the charity’s stand at this year’s Horse Trials.
With a table-top Piggy Race, farmyard themed arts, crafts and games alongside a large faux blossom tree heaving with potential prizes and a live performance from Extreme Cello with the support of volunteers from Sheffield Girls High School, CHICKS is more than ready to welcome guests to its stand.
The charity’s lovely friends at PONY Magazine have also gone a bundle and will be supplying endless copies of their UK’s No 1 Pony Magazine.
Inspired by the adorable Henry (@Chatswoof on Instagram), CHICKS will be offering delicious dog treats, fresh water and a Dog Throne – all the better for posing for the CHICKS selfie competition Pap a Pet, which invites visitors to share their selfies with horses and dogs at the event.
Andrew added: “CHICKS is so grateful to all at Chatsworth for this amazing opportunity.”
