Our latest magazine focuses on the unimaginable challenges many children in the UK face. Children who may be grieving the loss of a sibling; witnessing their parents' mental health problems or queuing at food banks discover on a CHICKS break, countless moments of realisation that they can overcome something they are afraid of and that they can summon the courage to believe in themselves and overcome challenges.
Read about the complex reasons children are referred to CHICKS and how our respite breaks help young people to gain confidence, make new friends and equips them with skills and experiences to help them overcome challenges in their home lives.
In keeping with the theme of challenges we also interviewed our Director of Fundraising, Caroline Burkie, who talks about the many challenges CHICKS faces and how together, we can all help make a difference to a child's life.
As usual you can also read about all our latest news including an update about our two charity shops and exciting news about new pilot projects we'll be running as part of our 2019 respite breaks programme.
