Making Memories… Giving Hope

#12VolunteersOfChristmas: Meet Grant!

Since May 2014, Grant has volunteered on six breaks and this will be his second Christmas break! Although he was away from his family last year, he said it was really worth it to see the children have the best break ever! He said: “I still remember one boy who carefully opened all his presents and was so grateful for even the smallest stocking filler. For me, that had a massive impact; in a world where many of us take for granted what we have, there was this little lad carefully collecting his Christmas treasure.”

Grant wanted to come back and volunteer again this Christmas because of the impact it gives: “no matter what the children may have faced during the previous year, they can end with a positive experience which will give them hope for the future.”

Grant, and the other 11 volunteers coming to CHICKS this Christmas, will be an invaluable support to the children – making sure there is lots of fun, games and laughter this festive season! If you would like to support CHICKS this Christmas, you can donate to our appeal here.
