Brabners’ Team Limitless travels over 11,000 miles for charities

Liverpool-based commercial law firm Brabners LLP recently completed a 48-hour dash for the Brabners Foundation, challenging employees to team up and travel as far as they could using only free and donated transport, in support of a collection of charitable organisations.

The event, which took place between 26 and 28 September, was organised to raise money for five UK charities, nominated by employees and finalised by the Foundation’s Trustees earlier in the year. CHICKS was chosen alongside the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, cancer care charity Sunflowers, Marie Curie and Liverpool Cares.

Four teams of two or three colleagues each competed in the challenge, raising more than £4,500 for the nominated charities. Ruj Dev and Jo Chisnall of ‘Team Limitless’ made it the furthest in 48 hours, travelling over 11,000 miles by car, train, tube and plane from Horton House in Liverpool to Sydney, Australia! Other teams made it as far as the Isle of Man, London and Hull.

Lachlan Nisbet, Partner of Brabners, said “We’ve managed to raise an incredible £4,500, surpassing our original fundraising goal of £4,000, and the total is still climbing as last-minute donations come in and cash is collected.” Mabel Duncombe, Partnerships Manager at CHICKS, added: “We are so grateful for the incredible support pledged to CHICKS by the Brabners Foundation, and have been blown away by the amazing fundraising that the team at Brabners are doing. Thank you so much!”

At the time of publishing, the Brabners 48-Hour Dash had raised over £4,700 for CHICKS and the other charities, which will be allocated by the Brabners Foundation’s Trustees in the autumn. All the money raised for CHICKS will help give more vulnerable children and young people in the UK the chance to have a free respite break.
