After almost two months of voting, the results of the 2019 Persimmon Homes Building Futures giveaway were announced yesterday (8 October) at a special gala dinner at York Racecourse, with £1 million awarded to various organisations.

As finalists in the Health category, we were awarded £5,000 which will help to provide more respite breaks to vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. For this, we would like to thank you all so much for your votes!

The £100,000 winner in the Health category was the Peterborough-based Young People's Counselling Service. £50,000 was awarded to second-placed Toy Like Me in Norwich, while the third place prize of £20,000 went to Butterwick Hospice Care.

Winners in other categories included Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association for Education & Arts and Swindon-based Scrappers Gym for Sport.

Mabel Duncombe, Partnerships & Regional Manager at CHICKS, commented on the result: "We were so delighted to have made it through from over 4,000 entries to become finalists in the Persimmon Homes Building Future awards."

"The £5,000 prize will mean more young people will have the opportunity to experience a life-changing CHICKS respite break and make wonderful childhood memories, all thanks to the incredible generosity of Persimmon Homes," she continued.

Everyone at CHICKS would like to thank our supporters and followers for voting, sharing and re-voting in the Persimmon Homes Building Futures giveaway!
