Making Memories… Giving Hope

Breaks to stop from Friday 20 March

Share

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to stop providing our respite breaks for children and young people from this Friday, 20 March 2020 until further notice, as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

In addition to the above, our shops in Exeter, Torquay and Newton Abbot are closed, and all our staff are now working from home.

Though this decision has been difficult, and we wish the situation were different, the safety of the young people we support, as well as our staff, volunteers, their families and loved ones, is simply too important.

As it stands, the coming weeks and months feel very uncertain, but as soon as we know more and are able to safely reinstate our services, you will be the first to know.

Until this time, our coordination team will continue to take referrals for children who could benefit from a week at CHICKS when we reopen, and our fundraising teams will be working incredibly hard to secure the future of this charity and the income we so desperately need at such an unprecedented and challenging time.

We politely request that anyone considering making a donation to CHICKS please do so online while our head office remains closed, or contact a member of the team by emailing info@chicks.org.uk, who can supply you with the details required to transfer funds directly. We can assure you that as soon as we are able, this money will be spent on giving children and young people who’ve had an especially challenging year the chance to make happy memories at CHICKS.

Should you wish to contact our teams with any enquiries, please email info@chicks.org.uk and we’ll direct you to the appropriate person.

Thank you for thinking of CHICKS at this strange and difficult time. We wish you, your families and your friends good health, and thank you for your continuing support.
