The clocks have gone forward, the weather is starting to pick up and the fields around the retreats are full of lambs, so we're feeling full of the joys of spring!
We're now in the middle of our 15th and 16th breaks of the year, which means that so far this year, 247 children have experienced all the benefits of a CHICKS break.
This spring has been made extra special for the children by the incredibly generous donations of Easter eggs we received! A number of our corporate and community supporters, and hundreds of Pirate FM listeners donated thousands of chocolate eggs! This meant the children had a very exciting Easter, and each break has been enjoying Easter egg hunts.
The children have also been busy exploring, climbing trees...
And visiting the beach!
The team has also been busy getting the Daleside retreat in Derbyshire ready for its first visitors of 2016. It's looking beautiful in the spring sunshine, and we've even welcomed a new resident - a mother duck who has built her nest by the house!
The first Daleside break of the year will begin on 25th April, so hopefully there will be some ducklings around the site by then.
If you're feeling inspired and fancy trying something new this spring, why not volunteer? Find out all the information here. And if you would like to support our work, and help children make happy memories that will stay with them for years to come, you can do so here.
