Ordinarily, CHICKS’ retreats would be filled with children and young people from far and wide,…Read more
Edward Chapman first heard of CHICKS when he ran the Delicious Drake's Trail. As someone who loves the outdoors, he feels passionately about helping give disadvantaged children the chance to enjoy it.
So, he decided to set himself an incredible challenge. On 6th May he ran the Tamar Lakes parkrun - and then proceeded to run it 99 more times in the following week! In total, he ran 500km (around 300 miles)!
Edward said: "I knew the challenge would be tough as it was the hardest thing I have ever attempted, but it was even tougher than expected. Things were not helped by a problem with my back which slowed me down. I had to run through most of the night on the Tuesday and all of the night on the Friday to complete the distance in the time I had set myself.
"Many people came and ran some laps with me which helped me get through the bad times. A lot of people had the belief that I could do it and I did not want to let them down!"
Not only did Edward complete his challenge, he also raised £900 for CHICKS. We'd like to say a huge thank you to Edward, and to all of his supporters who kept him going!
